Count Denver Broncos Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders among those who think Tony Romo would be a good fit in the Mile-High City.
Sanders appeared on NFL Network’s GameDay Morning today and was asked for his thoughts on the idea of Romo playing for the Broncos in 2017.
“I believe I would benefit, but one thing about it is I’m always going to take it back and I’m just going to put it on John Elway,” Sanders said. “If he does bring him over, I think Tony Romo will fit good in (offensive coordinator Mike) McCoy’s system. It’s a no-huddle, up-tempo offense. I think that it’s going to be similar to the Cowboys. I think he has Demaryius Thomas and some receiver No. 10 on the other side. I feel like he has targets, and I think we will win ballgames with Tony Romo or potentially a championship.”
While Sanders seemed excited about the potential pairing, he noted that he still has a lot of faith in the two quarterbacks currently on Denver’s roster.
“Paxton Lynch played in a spread offense at Memphis and he can be successful. I think Trevor (Siemian) can be successful. So we’ll see what we do.”
Sports betting website Odds Shark also seems to think a Denver Broncos-Tony Romo marriage is on the horizon. Odds released last Tuesday had Denver as slight favorites to land Romo, followed by Houston and Chicago.
